SCHOOL FOR SQUATTERS

My project is a secret school for squatters that is based in the thames, near Limehouse. The project is inspired by the M11 link road protests in 1994 in Leytonstone where towers, tunnels , nets and other forms of architecture were created to try and prevent their eviction from Claremont Road. The exterior of the building presents itself as an industrial shed. Inside contains a recreation Claremont road which allows for squatters to practice building towers, braking through walls and the complete take over of a space. The content of the building should remains hidden from outside view at all cost. The squatters gather skills and then take over vacant properties in London and return them as public space. The whole interior is a homage to Claremont road and designed as a squatters paradise
